Reach For A Dream

Fulfilling the dreams of life-threatened children is at the core of what Reach For A Dream does. When a child gets diagnosed with a life-threatening illness it takes a severe toll on their life. Despite this reality, life-threatened children still have dreams, and we want to fulfil them. Through fulfilling each child’s dream we can bring a spark of hope back into each child’s life, as we know children want nothing more than to have their dreams come true, regardless of their illness. A dream could be going to the sea for the first time or getting a doll house. No matter the dream, we try to fulfil it.

Reach For A Dream tries to alleviate some of the emotional, physical and financial strain of dealing with a life-threatening illness by creating magical moments that last a lifetime.

Each dream falls into the following categories:

1) I Wish to Go: Dreams where children wish to visit places like theme parks or travel to new destinations.
2) I Wish to Meet: Arranging encounters with celebrities, sports stars, or other idols.
3) I Wish to Have: Granting children gifts such as toys, electronics, or other desired items.
4) I Wish to Be: Enabling children to experience being someone they admire, such as a police officer or a firefighter for a day.
5) I Wish to Give: Fulfilling wishes where children want to give something back to their families or communities.

Each dream costs R7,500 to fulfil.
